Austrian Combat League Österreichischer Kampfbund
In 1941, a resistance group was founded around the chaplain Anton Maria Pichler, members of the K.Ö.St.V. Herulia Wien, the K.Ö.St.V. Nibelungia and many more, which is also known as the Austrian Fighting League. Herbert Braunsteiner, member of the K.Ö.St.V. Nibelungia and the A.V. Austria Innsbruck belonged to this group, as did some of his classmates. From 1943 there were contacts with Felix Hurdes, member of K.Ö.St.V. Herulia Vienna, K.St.V. Rhenania Vienna, K.P.V. Thuiskonia Wien, K.St.V. Rhaetia Wien, K.Ö.St.V. Nibelungia and K.Ö.H.V. Sängerschaft Waltharia. In the final days of the war, Pichler is also said to have hidden numerous deserted soldiers in the cellars beneath Vienna's Rochuskirche
