Curriculum Vitae
Zoltan Walloschek was born in Rákoskeresztúr, a district of Budapest. After attending elementary school, military cadet school and commercial school in the Hungarian capital, he was drafted in 1917 and deployed on the Austro-Hungarian and Russian fronts. In 1918, Zoltan Walloschek was mustered out as a lieutenant in the Hungarian army and moved to Vienna.
Zoltan Walloschek worked in various arts and crafts professions and was involved in homeland security. He was also involved in the suppression of the National Socialist coup attempt in July 1934.
After the occupation of Austria by Hitler's Germany, he was initially unemployed and was drafted into the Wehrmacht as a first lieutenant in 1940. He was discharged from military service in June 1942.
In spring, Zoltan Walloschek joined the Lamberti circle, named after the Viennese innkeeper Franz Lambert [today: Pürstner]. In this round they become conspiratorially active. He tries to persuade other former members of the Heimatschutz to join the Lamberti-Runde. At the beginning of 1942, the Lamberti-Runde joined the Anton Granig, founded by Pastor Antifascist Freedom Movement of Austria (AFÖ).
Zoltan Walloschek was arrested by the Gestapo on 8 February 1943 and charged with "preparation for high treason" on 9 June 1944. He was finally sentenced to 3 years in prison by the People's Court on August 15, 1944 for "failure to report a crime". He was imprisoned until April 6, 1945.
After the war, Zoltan Walloschek became a tobacconist in Vienna, married and died childless in 1975.
