Curriculum Vitae

August Otto Loacker visits the German Gymnasium in Trent. After the Matura he began studying law in Vienna in 1896 and joined Norica in 1897. He continues his studies at the WS 1897/98 in Innsbruck and becomes a member of the Austria-Innsbruck in the same year. In 1906, he serves as a one-year-old with the Kaiserschützen and is excerpted there as a lieutenant, but is degraded in 1909 because of duel refusal. After two public examinations he cancels his studies, becomes a journalist at the “Arnauer-Volksboten” (Arnau near Tratenau/Hostinne/Böhmen) and later changes to the “Eibe-Post” in Leitmeritz (Litomefice/Böhmen). In the general directory of the CV 1910 he also appears as a editor and secretary of the Christlichsozial Landesparteileitung für Deutsch-Böhmen in Leitmeritz (with residence in Eger/Cheb). In 1914, he is a subofficial. After a severe wounding, he returns to his homeland Vorarlberg and takes over the administration of the Lungsheilstärte Gaisbühl.

After the war, he devotes himself to rural interests. Thus he is involved in the establishment of the “Vorarlberger Bauernbund” and becomes his first secretary. In 1925–1931, he works as a merchant according to the GV of these years. In 1930 he moved to Innsbruck with his family and took over the leadership of the “Tiroler Bauernzeitung”. He then changes to the Tyrolean Volksverein as his secretary. In this function, he is taken over as contract staff in the Tyrolean national service.

After joining, he will be in custody as a member of the Resistance Group “Freedom Austria” for preparation for high treason from 15.10.1938 to 21.3.1939 in Innsbruck. From 8.8.1939 to 4.6.1942 he is now in custody and then in Landshut he is in prison. Dismissed from prison, the 63-year-old works as a coal carrier in a coal trade.

After 1945 he became a contract official of the Tyrolean Care Association.
