Curriculum Vitae

Robert Othmar Richard Pollak was born in Vienna as the legitimate son of Richard Pollak, a salesman who had converted to the Catholic faith, and Josefine Johanna, née Hrabernik. After elementary school, he attended two classes at grammar school before transferring to secondary school, where he also completed two classes. He then learned the hairdressing trade, worked in this profession for two years and then as an assistant locksmith. After his parents' marriage broke down, he lived with his mother.

On March 12, 1938, Robert Pollak witnessed the end of a free and independent Austria with the invasion of the German Wehrmacht. With the occupation of Austria, German legislation was adopted and with it the 'Nuremberg Race Laws', according to which Robert Pollak was classified as a 'Mischling I. Grades' or 'Half-Jew'.

In spring 1943, Robert Pollak met the members of the Mischlingsliga in Wien (MLW)
