The cremated remains of Franz Danihelka are sent to Vienna and buried at the cemetery in Vienna-Meidling.
His wife Maria Danihelka witnesses the liberation of occupied Austria in April and May 1945 and joins the newly founded Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the ÖVP-Kameradschaft der politisch Verfolgten und Bekenner für Österreich. She outlived her husband by 26 years.
