Curriculum Vitae
Hugo Schwendenwein graduated from high school in Klagenfurt and then studied mathematics and physics in Vienna. He took part in the First World War as a first lieutenant. From 1935, he was director of the teacher training college in Klagenfurt.
He was arrested on the evening of 12 March 1938, accused of hiding rifles for an organization close to the VF. However, no charges were brought against him, but he remained in prison for over six months without a trial. The transfer to Dachau, which had already been ordered, was prevented by fortunate circumstances. He is expelled from the Gau and banned from his profession and makes ends meet as an accountant.
