Curriculum Vitae
Anton Widmann attended the Academic Grammar School in Vienna and served in the military from 1913 to 1918 as a professional officer (ultimately a cavalry captain in the Imperial and Royal Uhlan Regiment 11).
After the First World War, he initially worked in industry until 1926, but also studied in Innsbruck, where he graduated with a doctorate in law in 1927 and a doctorate in political science in 1928. During his subsequent court practice, he worked as a trainee lawyer in the law firm of the later National Bank President Dr. Viktor Kienböck (1873-1956). He then moved to Vienna, where he joined the student association Welfia in 1934 - already as a professional.
In 1935, Anton Widmann worked as Secretary General of the Federation of Austrian Tradesmen until the Anschluss. He is arrested on March 12, 1938 and remains in police custody until June 16, when he is transferred to the Dachau concentration camp. After his release, he worked for a haulage company in Bremen until the end of the war.
