Curriculum Vitae

Anton Stangelberger attended grammar school in Vienna and was a founding member of the Thuiskonia Vienna secondary school fraternity in 1903. He then continued his school education in Horn and joined the Waldmark Horn secondary school fraternity in the winter semester of 1904/1905. In 1907 he graduated from high school in Horn and began studying law in Vienna. In the same year, he joins the student fraternity Austria Wien. As he did not complete his studies, he had to leave Austria again. After the war, he was readmitted as an Urphilister.

After the First World War, Anton Stangelberger joined the Ministry of Social Affairs as an official councillor in the provincial invalidity office. In 1936, he is involved in the founding of the Kahlenberg Vienna secondary school association.

After the Anschluss, he is arrested by the Gestapo on May 3, 1938 and dismissed from public service in accordance with § 4 para. I BBV. After interrogation at Morzinplatz, he is transferred to Dachau concentration camp on 17.6.1938, where he remains imprisoned until 16.11.1940.
