Curriculum Vitae
Sebastian Anton Carl Blumauer was born in Vienna as the legitimate son of butcher Karl Blumauer and Eleonora, née Schwertfeger. After elementary school, he attended six classes at the Amerlinggymnasium and then transferred to the Landeskadettenschule, from which he graduated in 1899. He then entered military service in the cavalry and attended the Vienna War College between 1904 and 1906. As a young cavalry officer, he was stationed in Stockerau, Vienna-Josefsstadt, Olomouc, Krakow and Wels.
During the First World War, Sebastian Blumauer served on various fronts, was commissioned as a major in the new Austrian army in 1919 and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. A staunch Austrian and legitimist, he joined the Reichsbund der Österreicher as early as 1919, where he advanced to the position of Principal Secretary on the Presidium. As a devout Catholic and staunch Austrian, he resolutely rejected National Socialism and worked as a 'speaker and propagandist' against National Socialist Germany.
On March 12, 1938, he witnessed the downfall of a free and independent Austria when the German Wehrmacht invaded. On March 19, 1938, Sebastian Blumauer was arrested by the Gestapo and discharged as a soldier through forced retirement. On June 15, 1938, he was deported to Dachau concentration camp and released on September 20, 1938.
Always held monarchist views and is currently still active in a monarchist sense. He is currently said to be imprisoned.
He receives a major's pension.
Not a member of the NSV. Made a one-off donation of 50 Pf to WHW.
Provides absolutely no guarantee of commitment to the party. Unacceptable.
On July 25, 1939, Sebastian Blumauer is arrested but charged with offenses under the law against the formation of new parties and sentenced to 10 months in prison on September 11, 1939. He is released from prison on June 13, 1940.
In retirement, Sebastian Blumauer experiences the liberation of Austria in May 1945. He joins the newly founded Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the ÖVP-Kameradschaft der politisch Verfolgten und Bekenner für Österreich. Sebastian Blumauer died unmarried and childless at the age of 83 in Vienna and was laid to rest at the cemetery in Vienna-Baumgarten.
