Curriculum Vitae
Albert Rechfeld completed elementary school and grammar school in Vienna, then did his military service as a one-year volunteer. After graduating from high school, he began studying at the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna, graduating in 1911 with a Doctor iuris degree.
In 1912, he began his career as a judge, first as a trainee, later as a presidential trainee at the Higher Regional Court of Vienna, before becoming an examining magistrate (Auskultator) in Salzburg in 1913. He took part in the First World War from 1914-1918, ultimately with the rank of first lieutenant in the reserves. In 1919, Albert Rechfeld returned to his profession and was appointed examining magistrate in Ried i. I. In 1923, he moved to Salzburg as a public prosecutor, where he became head of the public prosecutor's office in 1934 and, from May 1, 1936, Chief Public Prosecutor. He is also chairman of the trade union for Christian civil servants.
In 1928, the Kürnberg student fraternity accepts him as an honorary member. Albert Rechfeld has been a member of the VF since 1933 and a member of the State Council from 1934 to 1938.
After the Anschluss, he is dismissed as a public prosecutor in March 1938, arrested and transferred to Dachau concentration camp on April 8, 1938. He was then transferred to permanent retirement on 30.5.1938 and released from service on 5.8.1938.
After his release from Dachau, he lived in Vienna, where he also died.
