Ordensheim Gramatneusiedl, FMA
In 1931, three sisters of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians (Don Bosco Sisters) came to Gramatneusiedl under the leadership of Sr. Elisabeth von Styp and opened a kindergarten for the children of the factory workers of the surrounding Marienthal factories.
When another sister was transferred to Gramatneusiedl in 1934, a sewing school was opened in addition to the kindergarten.
In November 1939, the institution was forcibly closed by the National Socialists and the sisters were expelled.
On August 15, 1945, the first Sisters of Don Bosco returned to rebuild and reopen the kindergarten and the sewing school.
