Curriculum Vitae
In the summer semester of 1938, Josef Handschur was the last senior of the Austro-Danubia fraternity before its forced dissolution. After the Anschluss, he participates with other members of the Confederation and the Cartel in the "Austrian People's Movement" (Alfred Alt, Josef Bischof, Ferdinand Habl, Josef Kessler and Johann Paukowitsch).
He celebrates Christmas 1938 in this circle in his apartment, which is betrayed to the Gestapo. He was taken into protective custody on the night of January 27/28, 1939 on suspicion of "participation in a secret reactionary society" and held until March 9, 1939.
