Curriculum Vitae
Paul Freudenthaler was born in Erdberg [Znaim] in Bohemia and entered the seminary in Vienna after graduating from high school. He was ordained a priest on July 19, 1925. He then became a cooperator (chaplain) in Niederhollabrunn (1925), Gloggnitz (1926), Patzmannsdorf (1926-1927), Inzersdorf (1927-1928) and Jedlesee (1928-1930). Local provisor and parish priest of Oberstinkenbrunn (1928-1935) and from 1935 parish priest of Wultendorf. At the same time, he was the provost of Loosdorf, Mittergraben, Großnondorf and Großschweinbarth.
In Wultendorf, Paul Freudenthaler witnessed the downfall of free and independent Austria on March 12, 1939. On November 9, 1939, he was arrested on the charge of being "an opponent of the NSDAP and the national community" and released on December 4, 1939, but was banned from the town and district and, in 1940, from school.
From 1943 to 1965, he was the pastor of Großschweinbarth (Lower Austria). He then retired and lived in Vienna's Hietzing district. He eventually died there.
