Curriculum Vitae

Fritz Moser attended elementary school in Sigharting and secondary school in Linz and was accepted into the Nibelungia Linz secondary school fraternity in 1906. After graduating from high school in 1910, he went to Innsbruck and then Vienna to study law and, like so many Upper Austrians, was accepted into the Kürnberg fraternity in 1912. His studies were interrupted by military service. He was first deployed in the Carpathians, where he was seriously wounded, then in South Tyrol, where he was seriously wounded again. He returned from the war as a first lieutenant in Infantry Regiment No. 47 with the highest honors. After graduating in 1918 and practising in court, he opened a law firm in Grieskirchen in 1924 and was the local leader of the Christian Social Party and its representative on the local council. In 1933, he was appointed district leader of the Patriotic Front.

In March 1938, the exposed lawyer was interrogated by the Gestapo several times. After various house searches, he was arrested by the Gestapo in August 1938 and detained for some time. After his release from prison, he was banned from practicing and residing in the town after the district leader in Geieskirchen declared him "unacceptable". He then moved to Vienna as a lawyer in 1939. Here he also represents Jewish clients and is active in a resistance group.
