Curriculum Vitae

Wilhelm Komarek is the son of an Austrian officer who dies soon after the birth of his son. Wilhelm moves with his mother to Fiecht near Schwaz in Tyrol. Not far from there, he attended the Franciscan grammar school in Hall, where he joined the Sternkorona Hall secondary school fraternity in 1895. After graduating from high school, he began studying law at

the University of Innsbruck and joined the student fraternity Austria Innsbruck. During intermittent periods of study in Vienna, he became a member of the Norica student fraternity and the Carolina student fraternity in Graz.

In 1910, he completed his studies with a doctorate in law in Innsbruck. He then trained as a lawyer and set up as a solicitor in Reutte in 1919. He is also active in the "Tiroler Volkspartei" and as deputy mayor in Reutte. Wilhelm Komarek has to accept liability due to a serious error of negligence on the part of an employee. His political opponents took advantage of this to make his professional future in Reutte impossible. He then leaves Reutte and sets up as a lawyer in Melk. He was soon recognized there as a fundamental opponent of the Nazi system; his intention to build a new life for himself and his family here was therefore fought against by this political side with all possible means.

After the Anschluss, he was taken into police custody for a year. After his release, he was able to build a new life for himself in Vienna with the support of his federal and Cartell brothers.
