Curriculum Vitae

Karl Henhapl attended grammar school in Vienna and was accepted into the Vindobona I secondary school fraternity in 1922. After graduating from high school, he studied mathematics and physics at Vienna University and became a member of the Nibelungia student fraternity in 1923. After completing his teacher training, he became a teacher at the Klagenfurt federal grammar school.

Immediately after the Anschluss, he was arrested at the Klagenfurt grammar school and held in police prison for several days. On March 28, 1938, he was released after interrogation, suspended from teaching and dismissed from service on September 1, 1938 on the basis of the new Professional Civil Servants Act. During the war, he managed to eke out a living as an industrial employee in Karlsruhe.
