Curriculum Vitae

Eduard Geyer attended grammar school in Mährisch-Trübau, where he graduated in 1891. After completing his one-year voluntary service in 1892 (lieutenant in the army), he went to Vienna to study medicine, graduating with a doctorate in 1898. In 1892, he was accepted into the student fraternity Austria Wien.

In 1904, he became a community doctor in Königsterten (district of Tulln, Lower Austria), where he remained until his death. He was also politically active and sat on the Königstetten municipal council from 1912 to 1938, twelve years of which as deputy mayor. From 1934 to 1938 he was a functionary of the Patriotic Front. He was also active on the board of the Lower Austrian Medical Association.

On March 12, 1938, he was arrested here and taken to Tulln. After a few days, he is released in exchange for a pledge. Back in Königstetten, the doctor's car is confiscated by armed SA men. On April 7, 1938, he was arrested again, this time by the Gestapo, and taken to the Gestapo headquarters on Morzinplatz in Vienna. After a short stay there, he was transferred to Dachau concentration camp. In the meantime, his family was forced to sell the house in Königstetten for far less than it was worth.

On September 20, 1938, he was released from the concentration camp, but had to make himself available to the Gestapo. When asked about his stay in Dachau
