Curriculum Vitae

Anton von Pilat began studying law in Vienna after graduating from high school in 1910, graduating with a doctorate in 1919. In 1910, he joined the Marco-Danubia student fraternity. After the First World War, he disarmed as a first lieutenant and joined the Vienna Police Directorate. He later moved to the Federal Ministry of Social Administration as a section councillor.

After the Anschluss, he was granted leave of absence on March 13, 1938 and was transferred to permanent retirement with effect from December 31, 1938 with a reduction to half of his retirement pension. On March 16, 1938, he was arrested and sent to the Elisabethpromenade police prison in Vienna, from where he was sent to the Dachau concentration camp for three months on June 17, 1938.
