Curriculum Vitae
Margarethe Halledauer was born in 1898 as the daughter of the ÖBB inspector Richard Halledauer in Vienna. In 1919, she maturates mathematics and physics at the Girls-Reform-Realgymnasium in Vienna IV and from the winter semester 1919/20. During this time she joins the student association of Catholic-German high school students in Vienna.
In 1924 she holds her doctorate in Dr. phil. The title of her work is “On a new method of small amounts of emanation” and deals with research that she conducted at the Vienna Institute of Radium Research. In 1926, she completed the teaching examination in mathematics and physics and then took various teaching posts in the schools of the Wiener Frauen-Erwerbs-Verein. Finally, it will be 1. September 1937 appointed director of the girls' school Baden, Frauengasse 3-5.
After the invasion of the German Wehrmacht, Margarethe Halledauer will be on 11. April 1938 as director with 2/3 of the remuneration suspended from the service. In addition, a disciplinary procedure is initiated against it, which confirmed the suspension and the reduction in salary.
In view of her intimate past with the system that has been overcome and her behavior towards the NSDAP, it appears impossible for her to remain in the service without significantly endangering the interests of the service, which is why she is provisionally suspended from the service in accordance with § 184 of the Teachers' Service Regulations (Federal Law Gazette 319 ex 1917). [...] as further employment in a responsible leading position in school supervision is not feasible in view of her previous political views, which are well known among the teaching profession.
As a result, Margarethe Halledauer was taken back into service and forcibly transferred to St. Pölten on October 1, 1938. Many minor harassments are documented.
After the war, she was rehabilitated and appointed principal at the Bundesrealgymnasium für Mädchen und Frauenoberschule IV, Wiedner Gürtel in September 1945. She died in 1969.
