Curriculum Vitae
Rudolf Schober first attended the "Stella Matutina" school in Feldkirch and then the grammar school in Innsbruck, where he graduated in 1906. He then studied architecture at the Technical University in Vienna (Dipl. Ing. 1913) and joined the Norica student fraternity in 1907. In 1908, Rudolf Schober was one of the co-founders of the Marco-Danubia student association.
After completing his studies, Rudolf Schober worked briefly as a trainee builder in the Lower Austrian governor's office before becoming a professor at the building trade school in Imst and then, in 1915, a professor at the State Trade School for Building Construction, Electrical Engineering, Arts and Crafts and Metalwork in Innsbruck. As early as 1919, he was appointed its director.
On July 1, 1935, Rudolf Schober was appointed section head and head of the technical section in the Ministry of Trade. After the Anschluss in March 1938, he was granted leave of absence and dismissed on July 31, 1938 with half of his pension (forced retirement).
After the war, he resumed his duties on April 27, 1945 as Head of Section and Head of the Technical Section, initially at the State Office for Public Buildings, Transitional Economy and Reconstruction under State Secretary Julius Raab. After the federal government was re-established, he exercised this function in the Federal Ministry for Trade and Reconstruction. He retired on December 31, 1953.
