Curriculum Vitae

Leopold Leutgeb entered the seminary in Vienna after graduating from grammar school in Hollabrunn and studied theology. In 1912, he joined the student fraternity Amelungia. He also passes the teaching examination for religion at grammar schools. After his ordination to the priesthood in 1916, he initially worked as a cooperator (chaplain) in Fischamend and Guntramsdorf before taking over the parish of St. Stephan in Baden near Vienna in 1918, where he also worked as a professor of religion. He was one of the co-founders of the Christian Social Party in Baden and was a member of the National Council from 1931 to 1934.
