Hans Kresbach is born as the son of the later Grazer Gymnasial Director Emmerich Kresbach sen. and visits the Akademische Gymnasium in Graz. After his Matura in 1941 he began studying at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Graz (Dr. med. beginning of 1949). On 03.06.1941 he joins the “illegal” and underlying student association Carolina. He is one of the twelve Carolines and 72 CVern, who had the courage to stand in the Nazi period “to God and Fatherland”. At the beginning of his studies he will also be convened as a student company Graz, which consists mainly of medical professionals. In addition to his studies, he is employed at the Saalfelden mountain sanity unit and Lazarett Lübben (Brandenburg).

After the war, Hans Kresbach continues his studies. After students and activities at the Pharmacological Institute, at the Wagna Regional Hospital near Leibnitz and at the Medical Clinic in Graz he is from 1. September 1950 at the dermatology of the University of Graz. There he begins a scientific career and leads the allergy test station from 1953. In March 1960 he got married and was awarded the title of an extraordinary university professor in 1968.

With 27. In January 1970, Hans Kresbach will be appointed as the successor of Anton Musger as an ordinary university professor and as the board of the University Hospital for Dermatology and Venerology at the University of Graz. In 1974/75 he is Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. From 1981 to 1984 he is chairman of the Clinical Committee. After having completed his function as Chief Hospital in 1989, he was emeritus in 1991.
