Karl Adamik is one of the co-founders of the MKV fraternity Tauriskia in Villach and is its senior philistine. After completing his A-levels at the grammar school in Villach, he went to study at the local technical college in Graz, where he graduated with a degree in engineering. In 1928, he joined the Villach cellulose factory as a plant engineer.
He was arrested on May 24, 1938 and transferred to Dachau Concentration Camp. According to "Dachau Concentration Camp Records", he was "furloughed" there on February 24, 1939. From 1940 to 1944, he worked as a specialist for steam and power plants in the chemical industry and as a specialist for water supply at Deutsche Hydrierwerke Rodleben and in Dessau-Roßlau.
After the war, he returned to Austria and worked as a lecturer in the Department of Paper and Pulp Technology at the Higher Technical College (HTL) in Graz from the winter semester of 1945/46.
