Curriculum Vitae

Ernst Hundegger - younger brother of Karl Hundegger - attended elementary school and grammar school in Innsbruck, where he joined the Teutonia Innsbruck secondary school fraternity in 1923. He graduated in 1927, began his studies and became a member of the student fraternity Austria Innsbruck. Until 1938, he worked as an employee of the Tyrolia publishing house and as secretary of the Chamber of Labor.

In addition, he was a regional leader of the Austrian Young People and on March 11, 1938, he was busy transporting propaganda material for the cancelled referendum against the Anschluss to the districts. He was arrested in Landeck on March 12, 1938, transferred to the Innsbruck provincial court and repeatedly interrogated by the Gestapo. He was released after 6 weeks, but was unable to continue his studies and found work as a construction worker. He was drafted into the army in 1939 and founded the "Kirkenesia" CV group in Norway. He is also active in the Austrian resistance movement and is deployed here in April 1945 as an area leader for the western low mountain range in the Götzens/Grinzens area. He returned from the war as a first lieutenant after surviving the Arctic Ocean front.
