Curriculum Vitae

Alois Hanig studied theology in Vienna and was ordained a priest in Vienna on January 21, 1918. Further stations in his priestly ministry are then: co-operator (chaplain) in Laa a. d. Thaya, Großschweinbarth and Payerbach as well as parish priest in Dreistetten.

As parish priest of Stillfried in Lower Austria, he is taken into custody together with his sister in February 1939, as they had caused a public nuisance due to "a conspicuous number of baptisms of Jews", some of which Alois Hanig had performed in their home. He was sentenced to eight months in prison for abuse of office, which he left as an invalid.

On June 1, 1940, he retired.
