Curriculum Vitae

Josef Strommer attended the Higher Agricultural School in Mödling. From April 27, 1934 to May 2, 1934 he is a member of the CSP in the Federal Council, from November 22, 1934 he represents agriculture and forestry in the Provincial Parliament of Lower Austria. In 1937, he took over his parents' farm.

After the Anschluss, he was arrested several times for political reasons, as he was known to be an opponent of the Nazi regime. In April 1945, he was imprisoned in Znojmo and then transferred to the Rossau barracks. The treatment he received here caused permanent damage to his health, which was probably one of the reasons for his early death.

Luckily for him, the transfer order for the Dachau concentration camp, which had already been signed by Ernst Kaltenbrunner, "disappeared" with the help of Maria Strommer's brother-in-law.
