Curriculum Vitae

Emmerich Johann Carl Fehépataky was born in Vienna as the legitimate son of the inspector Kolomann Fehépataky and Karolina, née Johnna. Nothing is known about his childhood and youth.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Emmerich Fehépataky was editor of the 'Kontrollblatt für Technik und Wirtschaft. Bulletin über aktuelle technische und wirtschaftliche Fragen und Fortschritte'. It can be assumed that, as editor, he was critical of National Socialism.

On March 12, 1938, Emmerich Fehépataky witnessed the demise of free and independent Austria with the invasion of the German Wehrmacht. On August 23, 1938, he was stripped of his editorship of the magazine and banned from writing. After that, he had to make ends meet by selling valuables and books from his private estate and receiving a small pension.

In April and May 1945, Emmerich Fehépataky witnessed the liberation of Austria and the re-establishment of the Republic. His ban on working was lifted and he was able to work as a writer again. He joins the newly founded Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the ÖVP Comradeship of the Politically Persecuted and Confessors for Austria. In 1955, he married Aurelia Andrǎevita.
