Curriculum Vitae

Ernst Gubitzer attended the Bundesgymnasium in Krems, where he became a member of the Austria Krems secondary school fraternity. After graduating from high school, he first studied philosophy and then law in Vienna and was accepted into the Pflug student fraternity in 1925. He then went into administration.

After the Anschluss, he was immediately relieved of his duties as city commissioner with a reduction in pay and dismissed on February 17, 1939 without pension entitlement. From 17.03.1938 - 20.3.1938 he is taken into protective custody. He is investigated from 24.6.1938 - 2.7.1938 for "crimes of abuse of official authority". Although the proceedings are dropped for lack of evidence, Ernst Gubitzer is kept in protective custody until August 24. He is imprisoned again from 27.12.1939 - 12.1.1940. Until the end of the war, he worked as an authorized signatory for the Soche construction company in Vienna III. During this time, he experienced four house searches.
