Curriculum Vitae
Franz Winkler attended grammar school in Horn and was accepted into the Tursia Altenburg secondary school fraternity in 1921 (which later became the Waldmark Horn secondary school fraternity). After graduating from high school in 1925, he went to Innsbruck to study theology. He joins the Premonstratensian Order at Geras Abbey and is given the religious name Evermod. After being ordained a priest in 1930, he worked as a pastor in various parishes.
During religious instruction, he [Evermod Winkler] told 12-year-old children, among other things, that a German soldier had brought 10 captured Russians to the rear and, because they had not been taken from him, had shot them without further ado.
He is therefore sentenced to 18 months in prison on 7 January 1943 for "offenses against the Treachery Act". On December 1, 1943, he was released early for good behavior, but was not allowed to return to his parish. He then goes to Rodingersdorf.
