Cistercian Abbey Stift Heiligenkreuz OCist

The Heiligenkreuz Abbey is a Cistercian abbey in Heiligenkreuz in the Vienna Woods (Lower Austria). It has existed without interruption since its foundation in 1133, making it - after Rein Abbey - the second oldest Cistercian monastery in the world to have existed continuously since its foundation.

Maximilian II. Heinrich HeimOCist has been Abbot of Heiligenkreuz Cistercian Abbey since 2011 and Abbot President (first President) of the Austrian Cistercian Congregation since 2016.
