Curriculum Vitae
Hans Krenn was born the son of a self-employed commercial agent who came from Vienna but was working in Moravia during these years. After graduating from high school, he completed a course at the commercial academy and then began studying at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1937), where he joined the Amelungia student fraternity.
On February 17, 1934, Hans Krenn took up his post at the Vienna Invalidity Compensation Commission. From the summer of 1936, he worked as a personnel officer in the presidium there.
After the Anschluss in March 1938, Hans Krenn was dismissed and drafted into the German Wehrmacht in 1939. He experienced the end of the war in Berlin, from where he was able to make his way to Golling (Salzburg) by train, where he was briefly taken prisoner of war by the US. His home in Rotenturmstraße had been bombed out in the meantime.
