Curriculum Vitae

After secondary school in Bludenz, Lorenz Emil Konzett attended grammar school in Feldkirch, where he was accepted into the Clunia secondary school fraternity in 1923. He graduated in 1927 and went to Graz to study law. There he became a member of the Carolina student fraternity in the same year. In the fall of 1929, he first moved to Vienna to continue his studies and became a member of the Alpenland student fraternity there, before obtaining his doctorate in law in Innsbruck in 1932. He then returned to his home country. In addition to his studies, he also worked in various professional capacities: in 1933/34 he was employed in the general secretariat of the Christian Social Party, in May 1934 he took over the duties of managing director of the VF in Vorarlberg and in 1935 he was executive secretary of the Vorarlberg regional trade association.

After the Anschluss, he was arrested by the new rulers, relieved of his posts and held in protective custody until April 30, 1938 without further charges. Released again, he was expelled from the district. He was then unemployed for a while and took on various jobs, such as at the Vorarlberg non-profit housing and settlement company in Dornbirn, until he was drafted into the German

army on March 25, 1943. On November 4, 1944, he was taken prisoner of war by the US on the Western Front, from which he was released on March 11, 1946.
