Curriculum Vitae

After elementary school in Mödling and grammar school in Horn, Johannes Zaunbauer graduated in 1928 and began studying at the University of World Trade and the Faculty of Law in Vienna. In 1928, he became a member of the Kürnberg student fraternity, as did his brother Wolfgang two years later. After gaining his doctorate and graduating, he joined the financial service and was dismissed as a financial commissioner in the Federal Ministry of Finance for political reasons after the Anschluss in 1938. He then found employment in Klagenfurt with a fruit and vegetable company. During his military service (last rank: private), he was placed under strict arrest in Glasenbach for refusing to salute Hitler in 1944.

After the war, he returned to work for the Ministry of Finance
