Curriculum Vitae

Adolf Nefischer was one of the co-founders of the Herulia secondary school fraternity in his home town of Wolkersdorf and the Carolina secondary school fraternity in St. Pölten during his time at school. In the 1930s, he succeeded in breaking the leading position of the local Social Democratic teaching staff through his great commitment as a leading functionary of the Christian Social Teachers' Association. In 1938, he worked as a secondary school teacher in Leopoldsdorf im Marchfeld.

On the day of the Anschluss, he was traveling with his school class. When the bus returns to Leopoldsdorf, he is arrested at gunpoint in front of his schoolchildren and imprisoned in the Leopoldsdorf municipal cemetery. After his release, he was dismissed from his teaching job and had to enlist in the German Wehrmacht.
