Josef Lassner first works as a “handling aid” in various companies at the end of the commercial school, then enters the office of the district tax authority in 1908.

After the First World War, he is working alongside his profession as a financial officer as well as a district organization manager of the VF. In 1936 he was awarded the honorary membership of Waldmark Neunkirchen. Because of his work at the VF, he is immediately arrested, interrogated and spent a few days in the police custody. On May 23, 1939, he was released by forced retirement. From April 1939 to July 1945 he works as a cashier at the Neunkirchner Volksbank.

After the Second World War, he is rehabilitated and re-entered into the financial service.
