Curriculum Vitae
Franz Lorenzoni attended elementary school in Schärding and then the Stiftsgymnasium in Kremsmünster. After graduating from high school in 1912, he served as a one-year volunteer in the Linz Rifle Regiment No. 2. He then enrolled at the Faculty of Law in Prague before moving to Vienna. Here he joined the Kürnberg student fraternity in 1913.
During the First World War, he served in the Graz Landwehr Infantry Regiment No. 3; his last rank was Lieutenant (retired). At the end of the war, he was taken prisoner of war in Italy. He returned in 1919 and continued his studies in Graz. After graduating in 1920, he joined the Upper Austrian provincial government from 1925 to 1934 as a member of parliament. In 1931 he became Chairman of the Finance Committee and President of the Upper Austrian Agricultural Workers' Insurance Institution. From 1934 to 1938, he was Provincial Councillor for Finance.
After the Anschluss, Franz Lorenzoni initially remained in office for a short time in the transitional government of Gauleiter August Eigruber (1907-1947), Governor of Upper Austria since March 14, 1938, now in the Reich Governor's Office of Upper Danube. In 1941, he was then given a subordinate post as a clerk in the Upper Insurance Office in Linz. During the wave of arrests following the July assassination attempt in 1944, Franz Lorenzoni was also imprisoned from 23 August to 5 September 1944.
After the war, he returned to provincial politics and was Deputy Governor of Upper Austria and Finance Officer from 13 December 1945 until his death
