Eugen Pechhold is a tenant and manager of the recreation home of the main institution for employee insurance in Fölz near Aflenz (Styria) on March 13, 1938. In his personal status sheet, he reports:

"On my escape from Fölz, chased around Upper Styria in my car for eight days. Arrested in Marein. Released and arrested again in Mürzzuschlag. Released again, arrested for the third time in Semmering and held for 4 ½ days, car taken away. House search at the Fölz health resort. [...] Manuscripts, books, radios, typewriter and pictures etc. taken away. Summoned to the Gestapo three times in Vienna and warned after reports in Graz and Ajlenz. Loss of the leased property [...]"
