Curriculum Vitae
Rudolf Mayr attended the Cassianeum in Brixen. After graduating from high school, he began studying theology in Innsbruck and became a member of the student fraternity Leopoldina Innsbruck in 1912. After some time, he transferred to the seminary in Brixen, where he was ordained a priest on June 3, 1917. In the following years, he worked as a co-operator (chaplain) and parish provisor in Finkenberg, Oberperfuß, Ehrwald, Nassreith, Steinach, Ötz, Inzing and Landeck. Finally, in 1933, he became parish priest in Stanz near Landeck. There he experienced the occupation of Austria in 1938 with the invasion of German troops.
On September 15, 1939, he became pastor in Oberparfuß. He is an opponent of National Socialism, which he does not hide in his sermons. Because of his courageous sermons, he was imprisoned by the National Socialists for some time. He left prison a nervous, almost mentally ill man. Unfortunately, no further details are available.
