Curriculum Vitae
Ernst Brassloff was born the son of a shipping clerk. His uncle is Stephan Brassloff, Professor of Roman Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Vienna. Ernst Brassloff attends the Landstraßer Gymnasium in Vienna, where he joins the Catholic secondary school fraternity Frankonia Wien in 1927. He was already involved in the Christian-German Student Association (CDSB) before that. After graduating from high school in 1929, he began studying at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1934), where he joined the Bajuvaria student fraternity.
After graduating, he joined the Postal and Telegraph Administration. As he was only an aspirant and a member of the VF, his employment was terminated in 1939. He was then unemployed for around a year.
In order to support him financially, Eduard Chaloupka gave him a Bible containing an envelope with a sum of money inside. Brassloff first worked in a law firm and then, after its closure, for a construction company.
After the war, he became Section Head in the Ministry of Economics and Deputy Director General of the Post and Telegraph Office.
