Curriculum Vitae

Erich Baumann joins the student fraternity Rudolfina in Vienna in 1934.

After the Anschluss, he comes into conflict with the National Socialists. As a pastor in Ulrichskirchen, Lower Austria, he "reprimanded the children during school lessons because some of them had not attended church services. The supervisory authority was notified with the request to remove him from religious instruction."

In 1936, he was appointed provost in Seibersdorf and in 1940 in Hochwalkersdorf. The Gestapo branch office in Wr. Neustadt temporarily arrested him here on May 23, 1941 "for non-compliance with the order concerning the transfer of Ascension Day". [
