Johann Sahler studied law at the University of Vienna after the Matura in 1899 at the Staatsgymnasium in Brixen. He becomes a student connection in 1901 Norica recorded. After his doctorate in 1906, he works as an advocacy client in Zywiec/Galizien (now in the tri-national corner of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia). In 1912 he began studying theology at the seminary in Brixen, 1914–1915 he was prefect at the “Cassianeum” in Brixen. After his priesthood he accompanies the Dombimer Standschützen on the Italian front in 1915–1918 as a field curate.
Other stations of his priestly work are: 1919–1924 St. Josephsbeneficiate in Bregenz, 1924–1928 Beneficiate on “Our Lady at the Lake” in Bregenz and 1928–1938 pastor in Bludenz.
Because he, as a pastor in Bludenz, called “parents and BdM girls [as well as the BdM leader], did not appear near the village in their turn-address [...] openly in front of the lads,” the 17-year-old daughter of the administrative administrator of the district administration therefore shows him. He will then be sent to the 11th after the house was searched. August 1938 to 10 November 1938 in protective custody in Bregenz.
According to the findings of the state police, his conduct endangers the existence and security of the people and the state by misusing his office as a clergyman to disparagingly criticize and undermine the development work of the movement and the state in Gau Austria. In freedom, he represents a serious danger to those around him [...].
