Curriculum Vitae

Andreas Junger came to the Franciscan grammar school in Hall/Tyrol as a pupil from the Borromäum in Salzburg. There he was accepted into the secondary school fraternity Sternkorona Hall in 1935. After graduating in 1938, he was accepted into the seminary in Salzburg.

After the start of the Second World War, he had to abandon his studies and was drafted into the German army. While serving on the Arctic Ocean front, he makes an ill-considered statement and arouses suspicion of a connection with the Soviet enemy. He is taken into custody and sentenced to "probation in a penal company" in a court martial. This affects him psychologically to such an extent that he is discharged from military service. Afterwards, he was unable to find his mental balance in life.
