Curriculum Vitae
Gottfried Wunder is secretary of the Christian-Socialist trade union from 1933-1934 and from 1934-1938 as an advisor to the Chamber of Workers and Employees.
After the Anschluss, he becomes a technical employee at Klagenfurt Air Base in 1940, where he meets Arthur Trattler, his brother-in-law Ernst Ortner and Eduard Pumpernig on business. At a meeting at Dr Trattler's house, Gottfried Wunder learns about the activities of the Antifascist Freedom Movement of Austria (AFÖ).
In autumn 1943, he is arrested, as can be seen from the note from the Vienna Gestapo: "On 22 September 1943, the Klagenfurt Stapo Office reports him to the Chief Reich War Prosecutor for preparation for high treason while in custody." In the trial before the Higher Regional Court of Vienna, he was charged "with an offense against § 139, para. 1 of the Austrian Criminal Code" on 23 August 1944 and "sentenced to three (3) months in prison for failure to report a treasonable undertaking. The sentence imposed will be reduced by 13 months' pre-imprisonment, so that the sentence has been served." It cannot be proven whether he was released immediately or remained in protective custody.
