Curriculum Vitae
Rudolf von Mayer studied law in Breslau after graduating from high school and became a member of the student fraternity Winfridia in 1924. He then moved to Innsbruck and joined the student fraternity Leopoldina in 1925. His legal assessor examination, which he passed with distinction, is published in the Winfridenblätter in 1933. He then worked as a court assessor (probationary judge) in Breslau.
This is why incarceration in labor or concentration camps with the imposition of "protective custody" is recommended as a police measure. This order also applies to Rudolf von Mayer, who is arrested because of his homosexuality. He was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp on May 30, 1941 on the grounds of "preventive protective custody, political/§ 175 RStGB". He died there on August 19, 1942 - he was murdered by the National Socialists. His fate has been clarified on the basis of the surviving camp register and death certificate.
