Curriculum Vitae
Rudolf Reisetbauer attended grammar school in his hometown of Linz. In 1919, he joined the secondary school fraternity Nibelungia Linz.
After graduating from high school in 1921, he went to Graz to study political science and joined the student fraternity Carolina Graz in 1921. After obtaining his doctorate in 1928, he first worked in his father's brickworks, then in the glass industry in England, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands and from 1934 to 1938 in foreign trade in Hamburg.
During a visit to his home country, he was surprised by the annexation of Austria by the German Reich and, as he was denied permission to leave the country, was unable to return. He was drafted into the police in 1940. On January 20, 1943, he was arrested by the Gestapo for unknown reasons and detained for some time. However, as no evidence of resistance activity could be found against him, he was released. He was then drafted into the German Wehrmacht.
