Curriculum Vitae

Alfred Brodil joined the secondary school fraternity Vindobona 2 in 1929 and studied at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Vienna from 1934 after graduating from high school. In 1936 he was accepted into the Norica student fraternity. During his studies, he worked as an employee of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Union.

After the Anschluss in March 1938, he lost his job and an official residence in Eisenstadt. After completing his doctorate, he was employed as a secondary school professor. On April 16, 1943, he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. Alfred Brodil remained a soldier until the end of the war. He joins the resistance group around Dr. Hans Wollinger in 1943. He was then arrested for "sabotaging the war effort" and spent four months in prison.
