Curriculum Vitae
Alfons Troll attended the Jesuit college "Stella Matutina" in Feldkirch from 1901 to 1905 and then transferred to the Franciscan grammar school in Hall/Tyrol. In Hall, he joined the Sternkorona Hall secondary school fraternity in 1908. After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Innsbruck and became a member of the Raeto-Bavaria Innsbruck student fraternity in 1910. He then moved to Vienna. In 1915, he was awarded his doctorate in law in Innsbruck. During the First World War, he completed his military service (last rank: lieutenant in the reserve).
After the First World War, he embarked on a career as a judge and became a judge at the district courts in Bregenz and Bezau. He also became politically active: he became a member of the VF and was appointed provincial governor of Vorarlberg (first deputy governor) in 1934. He held this office until 1938.
After the Anschluss, he was forced to resign on March 12, 1938 and taken into protective custody for a time. He is released as a judge. After his release, he worked for his cousin in agriculture and as an accountant to earn a living.
After the Second World War, he became a civil servant in Vorarlberg, headed the hunting department and was chairman of the economic cleansing commission until 1948. He then returned to his old profession and became head of the Bregenz district court. From 1951 until his retirement in 1955, he was president of the provincial court in Feldkirch.
