After graduating from high school, Theodor Czerny studied law for four semesters, completed an apprenticeship as a stonemason and then took over the company A. Ullrich & Co, Granit- und Syenitwerke, in Gmünd as a master stonemason. Here he was a member of the local council from 1929-1938.
He was imprisoned from 1940-1941.
