Curriculum Vitae

Josef Koliander passed his school-leaving examination at the Realschule Wien-Simmering (Gottschalkgasse) in March 1939 and then began his studies at the Hochschule für Welthandel (Dkfm. 1942, Dr. rer. comm. 1944). In 1940 he joined the banned underground student fraternity Rhaeto-Danubia and was thus one of the courageous 72 ÖCV members who, according to the 1949 general directory, were secretly received between March 1938 and April 1945. He joined a banned Catholic association at a time when France's defeat was already certain and the mood in Germany was accordingly high.
