Curriculum Vitae

Helmut Gnambs comes from Vienna-Alsergrund and is active in the Gymnasium in the Catholic-German Student Federation (KDSB), the Mittelschülerorganisation of the Reichsbund of Catholic Youth of Austria. After the Matura in 1936, he began studying the National Economics at the Faculty of Law and State Sciences of the University of Vienna (Dipl.-Vw., Dr. rer. pol.), where he became a student association. Rudolfina join. In this time, he is also active at the Student Free Corps of the Austrian Young People and is on the 11th. March 1938 ready to defend Austria's freedom.

After the connection it is in the resistance group Group iron active, however, which will be crushed in June 1938. Helmut Gnambs, however, is not accused and moved to the Wehrmacht after the outbreak of war.

After the war service in the German Wehrmacht, Helmut Gnambs returns to Vienna, continues his studies and then enters the service of the Agriculture and Forestry Social Insurance Institute in Vienna, later called the Peasant Pension Insurance Institute, and remains with him until his retirement. He dies after prolonged suffering and is buried in the cemetery in Vienna-Mauer.
